Description Nissan Qashqai

The official premiere of the third generation Nissan Qashqai (J12) took place in February 2021, and the crossover got up  in June.

The new Nissan Qashqai features a sharper design and bizarre boomerang-shaped headlights, almost like a Fifth Generation Pathfinder. The crossover is built on the CMF-C platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, it added 35 mm in length, became 32 mm wider and 25 mm higher, and the wheelbase grew by 20 mm. Thanks to this, it became more spacious on the second row: the increase in passenger legroom was 28 mm, and the distance from the bottom of the sofa to the ceiling increased by 15 millimeters. The trunk, the floor of which was lowered by 20 mm, added 50 liters in volume. Now the fifth door can have not only an electric drive, but also a contactless opening system.

To compensate for the increase in size and the appearance of additional equipment, the designers used lighter materials wherever the platform allowed. So, the tailgate made of composite materials has become 2.6 kg lighter. All doors, front fenders and hood are made of aluminum, which in total saved 21 kg. These and other measures have reduced the weight of the bare body by 60 kg, while it is 41% stiffer than before.

Full LED matrix headlights are also new for the crossover. They are able to automatically adjust the light beam depending on road conditions and oncoming traffic. There are 11 exterior colors to choose from, with five two-tone combinations for enhanced personalization options.

In addition to a more spacious cabin, the interior is upscaled with softer-feeling materials and optional front massage seats. There was also a major technological breakthrough: in front of the driver is a virtual dashboard on a 12.3-inch display, and above the center console rises a 9-inch touchscreen media system with support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play, the latter being connected wirelessly.

With the departure of the “second” Qashqai, a 144-horsepower gasoline “aspirated” with a volume of 2.0 liters, a 1.2-liter turbo engine with a return of 115 hp remained in the past. and turbodiesel 1.6 dCi with 130 hp In Ukraine, the car of the third iteration will be sold with a new gasoline turbo engine 1.3 DIG-T (HR13) with direct injection. On a front-wheel drive car with a 6-speed “mechanics”, such an engine develops 130 hp. and 240 Nm. And in combination with a variator (2WD or 4WD) - 150 hp. and 250 Nm.

The names of the kits are familiar from their predecessor, but differ in their “content”: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna +. They all come standard with Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Fatigue Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Dynamic vehicle stability control, five airbags and two curtain airbags, as well as rear parking sensors.

Nissan Qashqai for European markets is produced at the Nissan Motor plant in Sunderland (UK).
