Nissan Juke Nismo - the usual Nissan Juke was used as a donor for the sports model, the handling of which, even without additional modifications, will be envied by some hatchbacks. But the company decided to go even further and launch a crossover in the field of "charged" hatchbacks.
Nissan Motorsports (Nismo for short) came to the rescue. Therefore, the Nissan Juke with the prefix "Nismo" is not a banal increase in 10 hp. and 10 Nm of torque to the output of a 1.6-liter turbo engine, as well as a retuned suspension, steering and an aerodynamic body kit that is not fake.
The car got less pliable shock absorbers and springs. The rigidity of the rear suspension in front-wheel drive versions was increased by 10%, and in all-wheel drive versions - by 15%. The different numbers are explained by the fact that the modifications with front-wheel drive have a semi-independent beam at the rear, while the versions with a connected rear axle have a multi-link.
The steering wheel, as in the donor, makes a little less than 2.8 turns from lock to lock. However, the new "brains" of the electric amplifier gave it even more sharpness, accuracy and feedback. Thanks to the rear diffuser, new bumpers and skirts, stability at high speeds has increased.
The 1.6 DIG-T engine with direct injection, variable valve timing and turbocharger received a new exhaust system. Maximum power has increased to 200 hp and peak torque to 250 Nm. The "shelf" of the most powerful thrust is located between 2,400-4,800 rpm. As a result, the Nissan Juke Nismo needs about 8 seconds to accelerate to “hundreds” – 7.8 seconds for the front-wheel drive modification and 8.2 seconds for the all-wheel drive. The maximum speed for the first and second versions is 215 and 200 km/h, respectively.
Not only dynamic performance depends on the selected drive, but also the type of gearbox. If the “two-wheeled” Juke Nismo motor works in tandem only with a six-speed “mechanics”, then in modifications with a connected rear axle it works exclusively in tandem with a variator. The highlight of the all-wheel drive versions is the transmission with a variable thrust vector, which effectively “screws” the crossover into corners.
In addition to the external "decor" and the internal "stuffing", the interior of the "SUV" has also changed. All versions of the Juke Nismo received Alcantara upholstery with contrasting stitching, front sports seats. The red fill of the tachometer and the “zero” mark on the steering wheel look appropriate.
Especially for fans of statistics, the developers have created an application for mobile devices that shows the lap time, engine temperature and even the loads experienced. By connecting, for example, an iPad via Bluetooth to the “board” of the car, all this data will be displayed on the tablet display. And if the gadget is connected to the Internet, then personal success can be shared on social networks.
It is noteworthy that the alterations that put the imp in the crossover did not turn the car into an impractical “track car” with 10 mm ground clearance. Ground clearance Nissan Juke Nismo, as before, is 180 mm. Nevertheless, the geometric patency has deteriorated slightly. She was sacrificed to aerodynamics, or rather a body kit, which reduced the angles of entry and exit - from 25.4 to 22 and from 27.3 to 25 degrees, respectively.
Serial production of the Nissan Juke Nismo has been established in the English city of Sunderland.
